Role Description The Solar Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and optimizing solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Day-to-day tasks include performing site assessments, preparing detailed electrical and PV system designs, conducting energy yield calculations, and creating layout drawings and technical documentation. The role also involves coordinating with project, procurement, and installation teams, reviewing vendor specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and supporting cost estimation and proposals.





The engineer will troubleshoot design-related issues during installation and commissioning and contribute to continuous improvements in design processes and tools. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore.

Qualifications

- Solid understanding of the solar industry and solar power technologies, including current trends and standards.
- Experience with solar systems and PV design, including system sizing, string configuration, and component selection.
- Proficiency in electrical design for power systems, including single-line diagrams, cable sizing, protections, and grid-compliance requirements.
- Ability to use relevant design and simulation software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope or similar tools).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to accuracy and safety in design work.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Prior experience in solar project design or engineering is preferred; fresh graduates with strong fundamentals may also be considered.
