1. About the Role

We are looking to engage a detail-oriented and technically competent Software QA & Testing Associate to support the testing and quality assurance of our technology products, digital platforms and applications. The engagement will follow a flexible, assignment-based model, wherein the candidate will be engaged in small batches as and when new features, modules, product enhancements or software releases are ready for testing.

The candidate will work closely with the technology and product development teams to validate application functionality, test end-to-end user journeys, identify bugs and ensure that new features and releases meet the expected quality standards before deployment.

Our technology ecosystem includes applications and platforms developed using Node.js, React.js, Python and databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

The role offers an opportunity for a long-term association, with periodic assignments across multiple technology products and platforms.

1. Key Responsibilities

A. Functional & Application Testing

- Conduct functional testing of web applications, mobile applications and digital platforms.
- Test newly developed features, modules and product enhancements against defined requirements.
- Validate end-to-end user journeys, including user registration, onboarding, authentication, transactions, payments and other application workflows.
- Identify functional gaps, errors, inconsistencies and usability issues.
- Verify application behaviour across different devices, browsers and operating environments.

B. API & Backend Testing

- Conduct API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Validate REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, request parameters and JSON responses.
- Test API authentication, data exchange and integration between frontend and backend systems.
- Validate backend workflows and data processing.
- Conduct basic database validation to ensure data is correctly stored, retrieved and updated.
- Identify integration issues between frontend applications, backend services and third-party APIs.

C. Regression & Integration Testing

- Conduct regression testing following new feature development, bug fixes and software updates.
- Ensure that new releases do not affect existing application functionality.
- Test integrations between different modules, services and external systems.
- Validate application workflows across multiple interconnected systems.
- Maintain reusable test cases for recurring testing requirements.

D. Bug Identification & Documentation

- Identify, document and report bugs with clear descriptions and reproducible steps.
- Capture screenshots, screen recordings, API responses and other relevant evidence.
- Classify bugs based on severity and priority.
- Maintain bug-tracking logs and coordinate with developers for resolution.
- Retest fixes and verify closure of reported issues.

E. Release Testing & Quality Assurance





- Participate in testing cycles before new product releases and feature rollouts.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) based on defined test scenarios.
- Test applications in development, staging and pre-production environments.
- Undertake post-deployment validation of new releases.
- Prepare testing summaries highlighting issues, resolutions and outstanding risks before release sign-off.

1. Technical Skills & Competencies

A. Technology Stack Familiarity Candidates should have a basic understanding of applications developed using:

- Node.js – backend application architecture and services.
- React.js – frontend application functionality and interfaces.
- Python – backend services, application logic and integrations.
- MySQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB – basic database operations and validation.
- REST APIs and JSON-based data exchange.

Candidates are not expected to be full-stack developers but should be comfortable testing applications developed using these technologies. B. Testing Tools

- Postman or similar tools for API testing.
- Jira, Trello or similar platforms for bug tracking and issue management.
- Browser developer tools for inspecting application behaviour and identifying frontend issues.
- Basic knowledge of Git/GitHub and software release processes.

C. Automation Testing (Added Advantage) Exposure to any of the following will be an advantage:

- Selenium
- Cypress
- Playwright
- PyTest
- Other automated testing frameworks.

1. Desired Candidate Profile

- 1–3 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance or application testing.
- Experience testing web-based applications and/or mobile applications.
- Practical understanding of functional, regression, integration and API testing.
- Ability to independently prepare and execute test cases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to identify issues that may impact end-user experience.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with developers and product teams.
- Willingness to work on evolving products and undertake periodic testing assignments.

Candidates with experience in fintech, financial services, lending platforms, digital payments, SaaS products or other transaction-based applications will be preferred.
1. Engagement Model & Working Arrangement

The position will follow a flexible, assignment-based engagement structure rather than a conventional full time employment arrangement.
- Testing assignments will be allocated in small batches based on product development and release schedules.




- Each assignment may involve testing a specific feature, module, application or software release.
- Individual testing cycles may typically range from 2–5 working days, depending on the scope and complexity.
- The candidate should be available to take up assignments periodically, with reasonable advance notice.
- Testing may be undertaken at the Lucknow office or remotely, depending on the nature of the assignment.
- A long-term association will be encouraged, subject to performance and ongoing business requirements.

1. Reporting & Coordination

The candidate will coordinate with the Technology Team Lead / Product Development Team and work closely with developers, product owners and other relevant team members. For each assignment, the candidate will be expected to:
- Understand the scope and requirements of the testing assignment.
- Prepare or review test cases and scenarios.
- Execute testing and document findings.
- Coordinate with developers for bug resolution.
- Submit a testing report with identified issues and retesting outcomes.

1. Compensation

Compensation will be structured on an assignment / testing-batch basis, depending on the scope, complexity and estimated time required for each assignment. The terms of each assignment, including deliverables, timelines and compensation, will be agreed upon before commencement.

Performance and reliability will be key considerations for continued engagement and future assignments.
