Software Asset Management Operations Analyst

About the role

We're looking for a software asset management (SAM) operations analyst to join our SAM team in managing the lifecycle of enterprise software products across the company. You will help keep our software estate accurate, compliant, and cost-efficient by running day-to-day SAM operations, maintaining data quality, and supporting license reviews and renewals.

This role works night shift to overlap with US business hours, so you will partner closely with stakeholders and teams in North America.

What you will do

- Support SAM Ops team in managing licensing, entitlements, and usage for enterprise software products
- Run daily SAM operations including license provisioning, inventory reconciliation, discovery data validation, and license position updates
- Maintain accurate records of entitlements, contracts, purchase orders, and license metrics in the SAM tool and related systems
- Monitor software usage and identify optimization opportunities, such as reclaiming unused licenses and rightsizing
- Track renewals, true-ups, and contract milestones, and flag risks and upcoming deadlines to the senior SAM lead
- Support vendor audit readiness by gathering and organizing data, evidence, and documentation
- Work with procurement, IT operations, finance, legal, and business teams to resolve data gaps and process issues
- Triage and resolve SAM-related requests and tickets within agreed service levels
- Document processes, runbooks, and reporting standards, and help improve them over time




- Contribute to dashboards and reporting that give stakeholders explicit visibility into software usage, cost, and compliance

What you bring

- 2–5 years of experience in software asset management operations, IT asset management, or a related function
- Working knowledge of software licensing models, such as per user, per device, subscription, and core- or processor-based
- Hands-on experience with a SAM or ITAM tool, such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera or similar
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large datasets in Excel or similar tools (pivot tables, lookups, data validation)
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to reconciling data across multiple sources
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain licensing and compliance topics to non-specialists
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a collaborative team
- Willingness to work night shifts to overlap with US time zones

Nice to have

- Experience with enterprise vendor licensing (for example, Microsoft, Adobe, Docusign)
- Familiarity with vendor audit processes and compliance reporting
- Exposure to SaaS management and cloud licensing
- Basic knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Certification such as IAITAM CSAM, CITAM, or ITIL Foundation
