Job Summary The Role: Senior Price Reporter, APAC LNG

This position creates price assessments, market intelligence, analytical content and thought leadership for the Asia Pacific LNG market as part of the SP Global Energy Global Gas pricing team. The role serves as an anchor for our coverage of South Asia and Middle East LNG markets, leading coverage of physical LNG trade flows, pricing developments, market fundamentals, risk management practices and benchmark adoption.

Based in Gurgaon, India, the role plays a key part in the development and growth of Platts LNG benchmarks, particularly the West India Marker (WIM), while supporting broader LNG benchmark and methodology initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region.

The Impact The successful candidate will contribute directly to the credibility, growth and adoption of Platts LNG benchmarks through market-facing engagement, robust pricing methodology and high-quality market intelligence.

This role influences how market participants understand LNG pricing, procurement strategies, contracting trends and risk management practices in some of the fastest-growing LNG markets globally. The successful candidate will maintain Platts' editorial independence and high journalistic standards while helping shape benchmark development and market transparency.

The role requires extensive collaboration with regional leadership in Singapore and other global gas and LNG teams to deliver market-leading pricing, analysis and benchmark development initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Produce and maintain daily LNG price assessments and market commentaries in accordance with Platts methodology and editorial standards.
- Lead coverage of South Asian LNG markets, with particular responsibility for the West India Marker (WIM) benchmark and related assessments.
- Support development, enhancement and adoption of LNG benchmarks, including engagement on methodology and market transparency initiatives.
- Gather and evaluate market information from producers, traders, importers, utilities, downstream consumers, brokers and financial participants.
- Build and maintain a deep network of market contacts across South Asia, the Middle East and global LNG markets.
- Generate original news, analysis and thought leadership covering LNG supply-demand fundamentals, contracting trends, procurement strategies,



pricing structures and market developments.
- Conduct research and analysis on LNG pricing mechanisms, forward curves, benchmark relationships, term contracts, hedging practices and derivatives markets.
- Represent SP Global Energy in meetings, conferences, webinars and client-facing events.
- Collaborate with News, Research, Consulting and Commercial teams to support broader LNG market initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze LNG tenders, trade flows, benchmark performance and market participation trends.
- Mentor junior reporters and contribute to knowledge sharing across the LNG team.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Economics, Finance, Energy Studies, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
- An SP Global employee at this level would typically have 3-5 years of relevant experience in commodity markets, energy markets, journalism, price reporting, market analysis or related fields.
- Strong understanding of LNG, natural gas, commodity trading and energy markets.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex market structures, pricing mechanisms and commercial arrangements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience producing market-facing content.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships with senior industry participants.
- Advanced analytical and research capabilities, including the ability to work with large datasets and market intelligence.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and other data analysis tools; coding and data visualization experience is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced market setting.
- Willingness to travel internationally for market engagement, conferences and industry events.
