Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Administrator with 8+ years of hands-on expertise in managing, optimizing, and maintaining Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, security, performance, and disaster recovery readiness of core enterprise database systems. You will work adaptable shift hours to support 24/7 business operations and work closely with cross-functional delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Database Architecture & Administration: Design, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain multi-platform database infrastructure across Oracle and MS SQL Server environments.
- Performance Tuning & Optimization: Conduct proactive monitoring, query optimization, index management, and system tuning to ensure optimal database speed and responsiveness.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage database backup, restoration, clustering, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies (e.g., Oracle RAC/Data Guard, SQL Server Always On Availability Groups).
- Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Serve as an escalation point for database incidents, resolving complex technical issues, database locks, corruption, and performance bottlenecks during operational shift hours.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce database security policies, access controls, patching schedule, auditing, and data encryption to ensure regulatory compliance and protection.
- Automation & Maintenance:



Script routine maintenance tasks (maintenance plans, automated backups, index defragmentation, shell/PowerShell scripting) to minimize downtime and manual effort.
- Collaboration & Support: Partner with developers, system administrators, and application support teams to optimize database schema design, stored procedures, and migration activities.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

- Experience: Minimum 8+ years of dedicated Database Administration experience in production environments.
- Database Mastery:
- Deep technical proficiency in Oracle (Versions 12c/18c/19c/21c, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, AWR/ADDM reports).
- Deep technical proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (Versions 2016+, Always On, SSMS, Profiler, Execution Plans, T-SQL tuning).
- High Availability Setup: Proven experience in configuring and supporting High Availability and Replication solutions across Oracle and SQL Server.
- OS Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Linux/Unix shell commands and Windows Server operating systems hosting database services.
- Shift Flexibility: Ability to work in designated shift hours to cover operations, production deployments, and maintenance windows.

Nice to Have

- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).
- Exposure to cloud database technologies (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
- Experience with database migration tools and automated CI/CD pipelines.
