About the Role

XACT Inc, in partnership with PreciStat, is hiring a Senior Manager – US Taxation to serve as the Functional Head of our US Tax practice. You will lead the tax team and own the quality, review, and timely delivery of business and individual returns for US clients. You will also be the go-to expert for complex tax matters.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Team Leadership

- Lead, manage, and mentor the US taxation team, including preparers, reviewers, and team leads
- Allocate work, set priorities, and manage team capacity, especially during peak tax season
- Build a strong review culture by training team members on technical updates and best practices

Review & Quality

- Perform a second-level review of business tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120, and 1120-S
- Review individual tax returns (Form 1040) and related schedules
- Define and enforce quality standards, review checklists, and error-reduction processes

Delivery & Operations

- Oversee the end-to-end tax return preparation process, from client data intake to filing-ready returns
- Ensure all engagements meet filing deadlines, including extensions and seasonal peaks
- Track turnaround times, productivity, and quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement





Technical Advisory & Client Support

- Handle complex federal and state tax matters, including multi-state filings
- Respond to client queries and requirements, and resolve escalations
- Stay current on US federal and state tax law changes and implement them across the team

Requirements

- Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- CA, EA, or CPA qualification preferred
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in US taxation
- Strong hands-on experience with partnership and corporate tax returns (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120-S)
- Experience with individual tax returns (Form 1040)
- Proven expertise in second-level review of business tax returns
- Solid knowledge of US federal and state taxation
- Experience with Forms 990 and 1041 is an added advantage

Work Details

- Location: Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh
- Work mode: Hybrid, with office presence required during tax season
