We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data & Semantic Layer Engineer to build the governed data foundation for RxTrack modernization. This role will translate legacy Cognos reporting logic into scalable Snowflake models, reusable business metrics, semantic models, and reporting-ready data products.

Key Responsibilities

- Design RxTrack’s governed semantic and data foundation.
- Build reusable metrics, dimensions, hierarchies, and Snowflake data models.
- Analyze and modernize legacy Cognos reports, calculations, filters, and extracts.
- Develop data transformations, APIs, and integrations for Power BI and other reporting solutions.
- Establish data quality, reconciliation, metadata, lineage, security, testing, and performance standards.
- Support reporting rationalization and modernization proofs of concept.
- Partner with business, architecture, engineering, and reporting teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Support CI/CD, deployment, production troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
- Advanced SQL, Snowflake, dimensional modeling, and scalable data-transformation experience.




- Experience building governed semantic or metrics layers.
- Hands-on experience with Python, Power BI semantic models, APIs, data quality, metadata, lineage, security, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, testing, and controlled deployment processes.
- Robust communication, problem-solving, and business-requirements translation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of Cognos or enterprise BI modernization experience.
- Power BI, DAX, dbt, Databricks, or similar cloud analytics experience.
- Experience with metadata-driven solutions, reusable data services, row-level security, and high-volume reporting or extracts.
- Familiarity with AI-ready data architecture, conversational analytics, healthcare or pharmacy data, and regulated environments.
- Experience supporting client-facing reports, scheduled delivery, and enterprise reporting platforms.
