Senior Accountant | HCO & Co., Chartered Accountants

HCO & Co. is a Bengaluru-based firm of Chartered Accountants, in practice since 1962. We provide audit, tax, compliance and virtual CFO services to start-ups and growing businesses.

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to independently manage the complete accounting function of our client, a fast-growing consumer brand. You’ll be based full-time at the client’s office.

What you’ll do

- Handle end-to-end accounting in Tally, from daily entries to monthly closing of books
- Maintain inventory accounts with batch-wise stock, inter-state stock transfers and reconciliations
- Prepare and reconcile data for GST returns across multiple states, including ITC matching with GSTR-2B
- Compute and pay TDS, and prepare data for TDS returns and advance tax
- Ensure PF, ESI, Professional Tax and other labour law compliances
- Prepare stock statements and documents for bank limits, renewals and lender requirements
- Manage receivables and payables follow-up, and do vendor and customer reconciliations
- Prepare monthly MIS and schedules for audit
- Supervise and review the work of the Junior Accountant




- Coordinate with internal teams, auditors and our senior team

What we’re looking for

- B.Com or M.Com; CA Inter or CMA Inter is an added advantage
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the FMCG sector
- Good knowledge of GST, Income Tax (TDS) and labour laws (PF, ESI, PT)
- Working knowledge of bank financing: cash credit and overdraft limits, stock statements, renewals
- Advanced Tally skills: inventory with batches, cost centres, GST and TDS modules, reports
- Robust Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliations, MIS
- Ability to handle the accounting function on your own and meet deadlines
