Position: Rigger / Scaffolder

Work Location: Project Site- Gujarat and Mumbai

Reporting To: Site Supervisor / Foreman / Safety Officer

Experience Required: 2–5 Years (Depending on Project Requirements)

1. Job Purpose

The Rigger / Scaffolder is responsible for safely handling, lifting, shifting, erecting, inspecting, and dismantling heavy materials, equipment, and scaffolding structures at the project site. All activities must be performed in accordance with approved procedures, company safety standards, and HSE requirements.
1. Key Responsibilities

A. Rigger Responsibilities

- Perform safe lifting and shifting of heavy materials, equipment, pipes, and steel structures.
- Work with cranes and other lifting equipment under approved lifting procedures.
- Use rigging tools and accessories such as wire ropes, slings, shackles, hooks, and lifting belts.
- Inspect all rigging tools and lifting accessories before use.
- Understand load weight, load balance, and center of gravity.
- Provide standard hand signals and radio communication to crane operators.
- Follow approved lifting plans and ensure safe lifting operations.
- Ensure that the lifting area is barricaded and unauthorized personnel are kept away.
- Report any damaged or defective lifting equipment to the supervisor.

B. Scaffolder Responsibilities

- Erect, modify, inspect, and dismantle scaffolding structures safely.
- Handle scaffolding materials such as pipes, couplers, base plates, platforms, and fittings.
- Ensure scaffolding structures are secure, properly supported, and secure.
- Install guardrails, toe boards, access ladders, and working platforms as required.
- Follow scaffolding inspection and tagging procedures.
- Use full-body safety harnesses and other required PPE when working at height.
- Ensure scaffolding is inspected and approved before use.
- Immediately report unsafe scaffolding conditions to the supervisor.





1. Safety Responsibilities (HSE)

- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety helmet, safety shoes, gloves, and full-body harness.
- Follow company HSE policies, safety procedures, and work permit requirements.
- Never start lifting or scaffolding activities without proper authorization.
- Participate in Toolbox Talks (TBT) and safety training sessions.
- Maintain good housekeeping at the workplace.
- Immediately report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, near misses, and accidents.
- Follow working-at-height and lifting safety procedures.

1. Educational Qualifications

- Minimum 8th / 10th standard pass.
- candidate with ITI/Diploma in Civil will be proffered.
- Technical training or certification in rigging / scaffolding is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of rigging and scaffolding activities.
- Must be physically fit to perform site-related activities and work at heights.

1. Required Skills

- Positive knowledge of rigging and scaffolding tools and equipment.
- Understanding of lifting operations and load handling.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to understand and follow supervisor instructions.
- Good safety awareness and responsible work behavior.

1. Nature of Work

- Work at construction and industrial project sites.
- Working at heights and in outdoor environments.
- Handling heavy materials and equipment.
- Working in shifts and overtime as per project requirements.

- Complete assigned work safely and efficiently.
- Ensure zero tolerance for unsafe lifting and scaffolding practices.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow project timelines and quality standards.
- Comply with all applicable company and site safety requirements.
