Key Responsibilities

1. New Product Development & Formulation

- Develop and formulate new products in Personal Care, Skincare, and Colour Cosmetics categories.
- Work on formulations for products such as creams, lotions, face washes, shampoos, conditioners, serums, sunscreens, lipsticks, foundations, compact powders, and other cosmetic products.
- Conduct laboratory trials, prototype development, and formulation optimization.
- Identify suitable raw materials, ingredients, and packaging components for new product development.
- Develop formulations based on customer briefs, market trends, product specifications, and cost targets.

2. Product Testing & Stability

- Conduct product stability testing, compatibility testing, and performance evaluation.
- Monitor product characteristics such as viscosity, pH, colour, fragrance, texture, appearance, and consistency.
- Evaluate product performance under different environmental conditions.
- Investigate formulation-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure formulations meet defined product quality and safety standards.

3. Scale-Up & Manufacturing Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Packaging teams for product scale-up and commercialization.
- Support pilot batch trials and manufacturing validation.
- Troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues during manufacturing.
- Ensure successful transfer of approved formulations from laboratory to production.
- Provide technical support during commercial batch manufacturing.

4. Documentation & Regulatory Compliance





- Prepare and maintain formulation sheets, product specifications, laboratory records, trial reports, and technical documents.
- Maintain product development records and ensure proper documentation of formulation changes.
- Coordinate with QA and Regulatory teams for product compliance with applicable cosmetic regulations.
- Support the preparation of product dossiers, ingredient declarations, and technical documentation.
- Ensure adherence to GMP and applicable regulatory requirements.

5. Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities for formulation cost optimization without compromising product quality.
- Evaluate alternative raw materials and suppliers.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and market research.
- Support product improvement initiatives and development of innovative formulations.
- Maintain awareness of emerging ingredients, technologies, and cosmetic industry trends.

Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a relevant discipline.
- Relevant experience in cosmetic or personal care product formulation and development.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory formulation, testing, and product development.
- Knowledge of cosmetic ingredients,



raw materials, formulation techniques, and product stability.
- Understanding of cosmetic manufacturing processes and GMP requirements.
- Positive analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and coordination skills.

Experience Criteria For R&D; Executive:

- 15 years of relevant experience in cosmetic or personal care product development.
- Hands-on involvement in laboratory trials, formulation development, testing, and documentation.

For Assistant Manager – R&D;:

- 3–8 years of relevant experience in cosmetic or personal care R&D.;
- Experience in independently handling product development projects, scale-up activities, technical troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination.
- Ability to guide junior team members and manage multiple development projects.

Preferred Candidate Profile Candidates with experience in a third-party cosmetic manufacturing company, contract manufacturing, or a beauty and personal care product manufacturing organization will be preferred.

Experience in both skincare/personal care and colour cosmetics formulation will be an added advantage.
