Job Overview The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing SQL Server database architecture, ensuring optimal performance, security, scalability, and availability. The role involves collaborating with development, DevOps, and other IT teams to deliver effective database solutions aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable SQL Server database architectures, schemas, and data models.
- Implement database solutions that improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, caching, and troubleshooting.
- Manage database availability, replication, clustering, and Always On Availability Groups.
- Develop and maintain T-SQL scripts for database automation and maintenance.
- Monitor database performance and resolve complex technical issues using tools such as SQL Profiler.
- Translate business requirements into effective database designs and data models.
- Collaborate with software developers to integrate databases with applications and APIs.
- Work with DevOps teams to implement database CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Ensure database security, data accuracy, accessibility, and compliance.




- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, architecture, and operational procedures.
- Recommend improvements to existing database systems and database management processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10–12+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration and architecture.
- Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, database normalization, data modelling, and indexing.
- Expertise in T-SQL scripting, query optimization, performance tuning, and database troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server features, including replication, clustering, and Always On Availability Groups.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database and cloud database services.
- Familiarity with database performance monitoring tools, including SQL Profiler.
- Experience with database security, compliance standards, and data integration strategies.
- Knowledge of database DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Robust understanding of software architecture and database design principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Microsoft SQL Server certification is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
