Quality Management Representative (QMR)

handles the exact same core duties as a standard ISO 9001 QMR, but with the much stricter, high-stakes requirements of the automotive industry under the IATF 16949 standard.

Core Responsibilities (Automotive Specific)

- Product Safety & Compliance: Ensure all automotive products and manufacturing processes meet strict safety, regulatory, and statutory compliance goals.
- Customer-Specific Requirements (CSRs): Embed individual automaker rules (like GM, Ford, or Stellantis specific quality manuals) directly into the company’s daily operations.
- Core Tools Mastery: Oversee and enforce the execution of automotive core tools:
- APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)




- FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
- Contingency Planning: Develop and audit backup plans for key manufacturing infrastructure (like power outages, labor shortages, or equipment breakdowns) to prevent delivery delays to automakers.
- Supplier Quality Management: Ensure the company’s own suppliers are strictly meeting IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 standards.
