What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):

- The Quality Engineering Lead for Capital Markets and Collateral is the regional leader accountable for quality engineering strategy, standards and delivery across the CIBC India Global Capability Centre. The role owns the quality function for a multi platform estate spanning trading and book of record, risk and valuation, collateral and margin, and post trade domains. The incumbent sets the testing strategy, defines the engineering standards teams are measured against, and builds a quality capability that scales with the region’s growing delivery footprint, leading managers and senior engineers and owning hiring, capability development, vendor relationships and the regional quality budget and headcount plan.
- The role sets the AI augmentation agenda for quality engineering across the function. The incumbent defines where AI is applied, spanning test generation and maintenance, coverage analysis, defect triage, requirements analysis and release risk assessment, establishes the governance, controls and validation standards that make its use safe in a regulated front office environment, and holds teams accountable for measurable improvement in coverage, cycle time and defect escape rate rather than adoption for its own sake.
- Operating as the senior quality voice in the region,



the incumbent partners with global Technology leadership, Software Engineering, Production Support, DevOps, Risk, Operations and the business to influence release governance and shape how change is delivered safely across the estate. This is a regional leadership role within GCC India, accountable for regional strategy, capability and delivery and for its alignment to global standards, rather than a global position. How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):

- Own and set the quality engineering strategy for Capital Markets and Collateral across the region, covering trading and book of record, risk and valuation, collateral and margin and post trade domains, and align it to global technology strategy and regulatory obligations.
- Lead the regional quality engineering organization, including managers and senior engineers, owning team structure, hiring, succession, performance management and capability development across multiple domain aligned teams.
- Define and enforce the engineering standards for quality across the region, including automation frameworks, coverage expectations, environment and test data strategy, and the quality gates embedded in CI/CD pipelines.
- Set the AI augmentation agenda for the quality function, defining where and how AI is applied across test generation, coverage analysis, defect triage, requirements analysis and release risk, together with the governance, controls and validation standards that make it safe in a regulated environment.
- Establish the quality metrics that matter and hold the organisation to them, including automated coverage, defect escape rate, cycle time, environment stability and release success, reporting transparently to regional and global leadership.
- Own regional quality assurance sign off and release governance across the estate, providing an independent, evidence based view of readiness and residual risk to senior stakeholders.
- Build and scale regional capability in line with the GCC strategy, growing teams across domains, developing local leadership and reducing dependency on global and vendor resource.
- Manage the regional quality budget, headcount plan, tooling investment and vendor and partner relationships, including the commercial arrangements underpinning managed service capacity.
- Drive shift left and continuous delivery adoption across domains, engaging early in architecture and design so testability, observability and clear acceptance criteria are designed in rather than retrofitted.
- Partner with Production Support and Software Engineering to close the loop between production incidents and test coverage, ensuring systemic quality failures result in permanent and measurable prevention.
- Ensure the quality function meets audit, regulatory and control obligations, including evidence of testing, segregation of duties and traceability from requirement through to release.
- Act as the senior escalation point for quality and release risk in the region, and represent regional quality engineering in global forums,



governance boards and senior business stakeholder engagement.

AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS:

- As the regional leader for the function, this job sets quality engineering standards, testing strategy and tooling direction for Capital Markets and Collateral platforms across the region.
- This job holds the authority to withhold or condition quality sign off for a release where evidence of readiness is insufficient or residual risk is unacceptable.
- This job is accountable for the regional quality budget, headcount plan, vendor selection and partner engagement within delegated authority.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

- Regional leadership accountability for quality engineering across multiple Tier 1 Capital Markets and Collateral platforms.
- Leads a multi team organization of managers, senior engineers and partner resource within the CIBC India Global Capability Centre.
- Accountable for the regional quality budget, headcount plan, tooling investment and vendor relationships.
- Supports platforms that execute 24/7/365 processing and require high availability, low latency and absolute data integrity.
- Influences release governance, engineering standards and AI adoption across domains and in partnership with global technology leadership.

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience); a postgraduate or professional qualification is an advantage.

Must Have Skills:

- Substantial quality engineering leadership experience within Capital Markets or a comparable regulated, front office environment, including leading managers and multi team organizations.
- Proven track record of defining and executing quality engineering strategy across multiple platforms and domains rather than a single application.
- Deep technical credibility in test automation and engineering practice, able to set framework, coverage and CI/CD quality gate standards and challenge senior engineers on them.
- Demonstrable experience defining and governing the use of AI within an engineering or quality function, including the controls and validation standards required in a regulated environment.
- Strong Capital Markets domain knowledge across derivatives asset classes and the trade lifecycle, ideally including collateral and margin, risk and valuation and post trade processing.
- Experience building and scaling engineering capability within a Global Capability Centre or offshore delivery model, including hiring, retention and development of local leadership.
- Commercial and financial management experience, covering budget ownership, headcount planning, vendor selection and managed service arrangements.
- Experience owning release governance and quality sign off for business critical change, with the judgement and standing to withhold it.
- Understanding of audit, regulatory and control obligations as they apply to testing evidence, traceability and segregation of duties.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication, credible with global technology leadership, senior business stakeholders and audit.
