QUALITY ENGINEER – ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (R&R;)

1. Roles & Responsibilities

- Ensure quality of incoming raw materials, in-process components and finished products.
- Inspect sheet metal components as per customer drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Perform dimensional inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Prepare and maintain First Piece Inspection (FPI), In-Process Inspection and Final Inspection reports.
- Monitor production processes and ensure compliance with approved quality standards.
- Identify defects such as burrs, cracks, dents, scratches, dimensional variations and welding defects.
- Coordinate with Production, Tool Room and Maintenance teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for internal and customer complaints.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to avoid recurrence of defects.
- Monitor rejection, rework and scrap levels and work towards reducing quality losses.
- Ensure proper implementation of 5S, Poka-Yoke and process quality improvement activities.
- Verify process parameters and ensure operators follow approved work instructions.
- Maintain inspection records, check sheets, control plans and quality documents.
- Support PPAP documentation, APQP activities and customer audits.
- Ensure calibration and proper handling of measuring instruments.
- Conduct operator awareness and quality training whenever required.




- Monitor and control non-conforming products and ensure proper identification and segregation.
- Support customer audits and implement audit observations within the target date.

1. Technical Knowledge Required

- Knowledge of automotive sheet metal stamping processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of 7 QC Tools.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis – 5 Why and Fishbone Diagram.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.
- Knowledge of welding and assembly quality inspection.
- Basic knowledge of Excel and quality documentation.

1. Qualification & Experience

- Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Experience in sheet metal stamping and automotive component quality preferred.
- Valuable knowledge of inspection instruments and quality documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
