Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Development Engineer with strong expertise in GD&T; and Tolerance Analysis within the Medical Device / MedTech industry. The candidate will be responsible for supporting product design and development activities, developing and reviewing mechanical engineering drawings, performing tolerance stack-up analysis, and ensuring product functionality, dimensional accuracy, reliability and manufacturability. The role involves working closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from design concept and development to verification, validation and manufacturing transfer.

Key Responsibilities

- Support mechanical product design and development activities for medical device components, assemblies and products.
- Develop, review and interpret engineering drawings using GD&T; principles in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Perform 1D and 3D tolerance stack-up analysis to evaluate dimensional variations and ensure proper product fit, form and function.
- Define and validate dimensional tolerances, datum structures, geometric controls, fits and clearances.
- Evaluate design concepts for functionality, manufacturability,



assembly requirements and dimensional performance.
- Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Supplier Engineering teams to resolve design and dimensional challenges.
- Review supplier drawings, CMM reports and dimensional inspection results to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
- Support design reviews, engineering changes, design verification and validation activities.
- Perform root cause analysis and support corrective actions for design-related and dimensional nonconformances.
- Apply DFM and DFA principles to improve product design, manufacturing efficiency and assembly processes.
- Maintain engineering drawings, design documentation and technical records in accordance with applicable medical device quality requirements.

Preferred Skills

- 5–10 years of experience in Product Development, Mechanical Design or Product Design Engineering within the Medical Device / MedTech industry.
- Strong hands-on experience in GD&T; and ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Experience performing 1D and 3D tolerance stack-up analysis for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Proficiency in engineering drawing interpretation, dimensional tolerancing, datum schemes and geometric controls.
- Experience with CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
- Exposure to tolerance analysis tools such as CETOL or 3DCS.
- Knowledge of mechanical design, precision components, material selection and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CMM, dimensional inspection and measurement techniques.
- Understanding of ISO 13485, DFM, DFA and medical device product development lifecycle.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
