We are looking for an experienced IMDS / Product Compliance Engineer with a robust understanding of automotive material compliance, substance regulations and environmental standards. The candidate will be responsible for managing IMDS submissions, validating supplier material data and ensuring compliance with global automotive OEM and environmental regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage IMDS (International Material Data System) submissions and material data validation.
- Create and analyze material and substance trees based on customer-released Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Prepare chemical composition datasheets for automotive components and systems according to customer standards.
- Validate IMDS, ELV and material composition declarations.
- Review supplier IMDS submissions and approve or reject data based on GADSL and IMDS recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with global environmental regulations such as REACH, RoHS and ELV.
- Conduct Substance of Concern (SoC) analysis for regional and global environmental requirements.
- Review material datasheets and monitor the usage of restricted chemicals in materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers,
Engineering, Product Management and Purchasing teams.
- Resolve supplier and customer queries related to material compliance and declarations.
- Stay updated on upcoming Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and global OEM substance requirements.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with IMDS creation, submission and validation.
- Knowledge of ELV, REACH, RoHS and GADSL regulations.
- Understanding of automotive material composition and substance declarations.
- Experience in supplier IMDS data validation and material compliance.
- Knowledge of Substance of Concern (SoC) analysis.
- Understanding of global OEM material and substance regulations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the automotive industry or automotive component manufacturing.
- Exposure to global automotive OEM requirements.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and customers on material compliance.
