Job Summary The Pricing Executive / Pricing Analyst will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing ocean freight rates while providing accurate and competitive quotations to customers and overseas partners. The role requires strong pricing knowledge along with customer service skills to ensure timely responses, effective coordination, and customer satisfaction.

The candidate will work closely with Shipping Lines, NVOCCs, Overseas Agents, Sales, Operations, Finance, and customers to deliver commercially viable and profitable logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Rate Management

- Source and negotiate ocean freight rates (FCL/LCL) from shipping lines, NVOCCs, consolidators, and overseas agents.
- Maintain updated freight rates, tariffs, surcharges, and validity periods for assigned trade lanes.
- Prepare and issue accurate freight quotations for customer enquiries, tenders, and contracts within agreed timelines.
- Calculate freight costs including ocean freight, local charges, surcharges, currency conversions, margins, and applicable taxes.
- Ensure quotations are commercially competitive while maintaining company profitability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, carrier updates, and trade lane performance.
- Design and maintain pricing tariffs and rate databases.

Customer Service & Coordination

- Handle customer enquiries and provide timely pricing solutions and shipment-related support.
- Coordinate with customers, Sales, Operations, and overseas offices to understand requirements and provide suitable logistics solutions.
- Ensure accurate communication of rates, service terms, transit details, and commercial conditions to customers.
- Follow up on quotations and support customer retention through effective service and relationship management.




- Resolve pricing-related queries and coordinate internally for smooth shipment execution.

Internal Coordination & Reporting

- Work closely with Sales teams to support business development and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Operations and Finance teams to validate costs and avoid pricing discrepancies.
- Maintain proper records of quotations, approvals, and rate agreements.
- Prepare pricing reports, margin analysis, and market updates.
- Support RFQs, tenders, and long-term customer contracts.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, International Trade, or related field.

Experience

- 4–5 years of experience in ocean freight pricing, customer service, commercial, or freight forwarding roles.
- Experience in freight forwarding, shipping lines, NVOCCs, or logistics companies preferred.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of ocean freight pricing, FCL/LCL shipments, trade lanes, and freight forwarding processes.
- Good understanding of Incoterms, surcharges, local charges, and import/export procedures.
- Solid customer service and communication skills.
- Good negotiation and analytical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, lookups, data analysis).
- Ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional written and spoken English; knowledge of Hindi/Mandarin will be an added advantage.
