Role & responsibilities:

- Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Create daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer POs, delivery milestones, and plant capacity.
- Plan nesting, laser/plasma cutting, pressing, stamping, bending, welding, and surface treatment sequences.
- Allocate specific jobs to machines, press lines, and operators considering changeover and tooling constraints. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Material & Inventory Management:
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOM) against raw material stock (CR/HR/GI sheets, coils, consumables).
- Raise Material Requisition Slips (MRS) or coordinate with the purchase team to prevent stockouts.
- Track and control Work-In-Progress (WIP) levels and scrap/rejection reconciliation. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Shop-Floor Control & Coordination:




- Issue shop/manufacturing orders and shop drawings to production teams.
- Monitor Plan vs. Actual production daily, resolving bottlenecks across design, quality control, tool room, and dispatch.
- Coordinate job-work vendor operations, challans, and material movement tracking if secondary processes are outsourced. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- ERP & Data Reporting:
- Maintain master data accuracy in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or TCS iON).
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Schedule Adherence, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and lead times.
