ABOUT CENT HEALTH

Cent Health is a preventive health-tech company, built by the team behind Practo, on a mission to make preventive healthcare straightforward, affordable and accessible across India. We are early-stage: the playbook is still being written, and the people who join now write it.

THE ROLE

You will own Cent Healths end-to-end monthly payroll across Bengaluru, Gurgaon and Mumbai, from collecting approved inputs to validated payouts, statutory compliance, tax and year-end activities. You will also be the go-to person for managers and employees on payroll and tax queries.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Process monthly payroll: run payroll as per the payroll calendar, collecting inputs from stakeholders with the necessary approvals: LOP, salary revisions, bonus, incentives, one-time payments and deductions.
- Own the payroll calendar: follow up with stakeholders for every deliverable so payroll runs and is released on time, every month.
- Validate before release: check and validate the payout registers: earnings, deductions and statutory components (PF, ESI, PT, TDS).
- Statutory and labour law compliance: manage statutory payments, returns and labour law compliance across all locations.
- Investment declarations and tax:



follow up on declarations and proofs month on month, run year-end tax activities, resolve employee tax queries, and conduct the year-end IT tax education session and payroll update sessions.
- New joiners: take joiner inputs and do salary fitment, providing a component-wise CTC breakup.
- Full and final settlement: process settlements with the eligible inputs: gratuity, leave encashment and any other recoveries.
- Payroll queries: respond to employee and manager queries clearly, within the defined TAT.
- Records and audit: maintain payroll records month on month, with statutory payments and receipts, kept ready for the annual audit.

WHO YOU ARE

- 2-5 years of end-to-end payroll experience, having handled payroll for 500700 employees.
- Sound knowledge of Indian payroll and labour law compliance: PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity, bonus and labour welfare fund.
- Strong stakeholder management, especially with managers, and confident in handling employee queries.
- Hands-on with a payroll system or HRIS and strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations).
- High accuracy and attention to detail, and comfort working to monthly deadlines.
- Discreet with confidential salary data.

GOOD TO HAVE

- Experience in a startup or fast-growing company, or in a multi-location set-up.
