Job Title: Oracle HCM Functional Solutions Architect

Job Purpose The Oracle HCM Functional Solutions Architect is responsible for defining and governing the global functional design of Oracle Fusion HCM. The role ensures that HR processes, configurations and solution designs support the organisation’s global operating model, promote standardisation and deliver a consistent employee and manager experience.

Working closely with Global HR, regional HR teams, HR Technology, Payroll, IT, Finance and implementation partners, the role translates business strategy into scalable Oracle HCM solutions. The role provides functional design authority across projects, acquisitions, process improvements and the ongoing evolution of Oracle HCM as the global system of record.

Key Responsibilities

Global Functional Architecture

- Define and maintain the global functional architecture and design principles for Oracle Fusion HCM.
- Own functional solution design across Core HR and relevant modules, ensuring alignment with the global HR operating model.
- Establish standard global processes and identify where local legal or regulatory requirements justify variation.
- Assess design options, document decisions and ensure solutions are scalable, supportable and aligned with the HR technology roadmap.

Business Process & Solution Design

- Lead functional discovery and requirements workshops with global and regional stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into process designs, functional specifications and solution options.
- Ensure employee lifecycle processes—including hires, transfers, promotions, organisational changes and terminations—are designed consistently.
- Challenge unnecessary customisation and promote Oracle delivered capabilities and reusable global solutions.

Data Governance & Controls

- Embed global HR data standards, ownership,



validation rules and controls into functional design.
- Partner with data owners and the HR Data Governance Working Group to improve data quality and consistency.
- Ensure functional designs support auditability, privacy, security and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and maintenance of the global HR data dictionary and related process standards.

Project & Change Leadership

- Provide functional design leadership across implementations, enhancements, acquisitions and business transformation initiatives.
- Review solution designs from implementation partners and ensure deliverables meet agreed standards.
- Oversee functional testing strategy, including scenario coverage, UAT readiness and defect prioritisation.
- Assess Oracle quarterly releases for functional impact and recommend adoption, mitigation or process changes.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Act as a senior functional advisor to HR leadership, HR Technology and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate design decisions and resolve cross-region process differences through a structured governance approach.
- Coordinate with the Technical Lead and Techno-Functional Specialist to ensure functional intent is translated accurately into technical delivery.
- Maintain functional design documentation, decision logs and process ownership records.

Experience & Skills

- Extensive experience designing and delivering Oracle Fusion HCM solutions in a complex, multi-country environment.
- Strong functional knowledge of Core HR and relevant HCM modules, with an understanding of integrations, reporting and security dependencies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead global process design, standardisation and stakeholder decision-making.
- Experience with data governance, implementation partners, testing, change management and Oracle quarterly releases.
- Robust communication, influencing, documentation and solution-design skills.
