Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Semiconductor Equipment Design, Special Purpose Machines (SPM), and Product Development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing complex mechanical systems, driving engineering excellence, mentoring design teams, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop semiconductor manufacturing equipment and precision mechanical systems using Siemens UG NX.
- Perform detailed 3D modeling, assembly design, drafting, and engineering documentation.
- Create and review designs involving sheet metal, machined components, fabricated structures, and precision assemblies.
- Apply GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure manufacturability and performance.
- Support new product development through concept generation, design calculations, prototyping, validation, and testing.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Electrical, Controls, and System Engineering teams.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA, PFMEA, and root-cause analysis activities.
- Perform basic FEA analysis using ANSYS or Abaqus for structural validation and optimization.
- Select suitable materials considering vacuum environments, cleanroom requirements, corrosion resistance, thermal performance,



and reliability.
- Ensure adherence to DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Manage product data and engineering change processes using Teamcenter or Windchill.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and establish design best practices.

Required Skills

Must Have

- Solid expertise in UG NX (NX CAD) for 3D modeling and design.
- Experience in Semiconductor Equipment Design and Cleanroom Manufacturing Environments.
- Hands-on experience in SPM Design and precision mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering standards.
- Experience in sheet metal, machining, fabrication, and assembly design.
- Mechanical design calculations and engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of PLM tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
- Understanding of DFM, DFA, and product lifecycle management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

- Basic knowledge of ANSYS or Abaqus for FEA simulations.
- Exposure to vacuum systems, motion systems, robotics, and automation equipment.
- Experience with prototyping and functional testing.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and contamination control practices.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
