Job Role

Responsible for fitting, installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of marine mechanical equipment and systems onboard vessels and within the shipyard.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, dismantle, assemble, and repair marine mechanical equipment and components.

- Carry out fitting, alignment, and installation of engines, pumps, compressors, valves, and gearboxes.

- Read and understand engineering drawings, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.

- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.

- Assist in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of onboard mechanical systems.

- Use fitting tools, machinery, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.

- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other production teams to complete assigned work.

- Follow safety procedures, use required PPE,



and maintain proper housekeeping.

Essential Requirements

- ITI in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent technical qualification.

- Knowledge of mechanical fitting, assembly, and maintenance.

- Ability to understand technical drawings and measurements.

- Familiarity with mechanical tools and workplace safety practices.

Desirable Requirements

- 3–5 years of experience in marine, shipyard, or heavy industrial work.

- Experience with marine engines, pumps, gearboxes, and auxiliary machinery.

- Knowledge of onboard vessel installation and maintenance.
