Title: Manager - Reinsurance Analytics - Insurance - Bangalore/Mumbai - 4+yrs

Summary We are looking for an analytical professional to manage reinsurance premium and claims data, reporting, and reconciliation processes. The role focuses on leveraging SQL, BigQuery, Excel, Python, and AI-powered automation to improve reporting accuracy, data quality, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

- Managing monthly premium and claims data processes, including extraction, reconciliation, validation, and final outputs for reinsurance reporting, bordereaux, and cessions.
- Querying and transforming large datasets using SQL and Google BigQuery.
- Building analytical models, reports, and dashboards using Excel and Python.
- Leveraging Claude and other AI tools to automate recurring reports, reconciliations, and data validation checks.
- Analysing loss ratios, claims development, ceded versus retained trends, and treaty performance.
- Identifying data anomalies and mismatches and coordinating with Finance, Claims, Actuarial, and Underwriting teams to resolve them.
- Coordinating with reinsurers and brokers on data submissions and queries.

Requirements

- Holding a graduate or postgraduate qualification in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrating strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and Power Query.
- Possessing strong SQL skills, preferably with Google BigQuery.




- Having working proficiency in Python, including pandas and automation scripting.
- Demonstrating strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Showing an interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve reporting and operational efficiency.
- Possessing clear communication skills and the ability to manage multiple monthly deadlines.

Good to Have

- Knowledge of reinsurance concepts, including quota share, excess of loss, treaty structures, bordereaux, and recoveries.
- Exposure to general insurance processes, including premiums, claims, and reserves.
- Experience with Power BI, Looker, or similar analytics tools.
- Familiarity with IFRS 17 or regulatory reporting.
