Legal Hold, Preservation & Discovery Practitioner

Elevate is partnering with a Global Tech Services Provider to hire a Legal Hold, Preservation & Discovery Practitioner to support enterprise legal hold, preservation, and discovery operations.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced eDiscovery professional who understands the practical relationship between legal hold, preservation, collections, and downstream discovery activities. We are seeking someone who can actively execute and support operational workflows, work directly within legal hold technologies, coordinate with stakeholders, and help ensure defensible preservation practices across complex matters.

This opportunity will suit professionals from legal technology, eDiscovery, litigation support, digital forensics, investigations, legal operations, and information governance backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer end-to-end legal hold processes, including issuance, tracking, acknowledgements, reminders, escalations, modifications, and releases.
- Support custodian identification, tracking, communications, and management activities.
- Coordinate preservation activities with legal, compliance, information security, IT, records management, and business stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate legal hold records, reporting, and audit-ready documentation.
- Investigate and resolve legal hold, preservation, and operational exceptions.
- Support defensible preservation practices across multiple matters and jurisdictions.
- Work closely with collections and discovery teams to ensure smooth transition from preservation into downstream eDiscovery workflows.
- Help maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and legal hold playbooks.
- Provide broader eDiscovery operational support as business requirements evolve.
- Contribute to process improvement, governance, and future-state legal hold capabilities.





Required Experience

- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise legal hold and preservation programs.
- Hands-on experience using legal hold platforms and related eDiscovery technologies.
- Strong understanding of legal hold obligations, defensible preservation practices, and enterprise governance requirements.
- Practical understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
- Experience managing custodians, hold notices, reporting, escalations, and compliance tracking.
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with legal teams, custodians, IT, compliance, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and contribute with minimal ramp-up.

- Exterro / Microsoft Purview eDiscovery / Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal / Relativity/ Nuix/ FTK / Reveal / Microsoft 365 Compliance Solutions / Enterprise Records Management Platforms
