Lead – Product Counsel | Leading Digital Payments Organisation | Mumbai
Our client, a leading fintech organisation in India, is looking for a mid-senior level legal professional with 7-12 years of experience in its Legal team to be the legal partner to product and technology teams.
What you’ll do
- Advise on product design, features, platform architecture and go-to-market, so legal is involved from day one
- Support product launches end to end, from structuring to rollout
- Draft and negotiate complex technology, platform, partnership and commercial agreements
- Interpret regulations affecting payment and settlement products, including data privacy
- Standardise legal templates and processes to speed up closures
- Prepare committee notes for senior management and manage IP with external counsel
Who we’re looking for
- 7–10 years of experience advising on product launches in fintech, payments or banking, ideally from inception to launch
- Hands-on product advisory experience, with credit card or card-product launches a strong plus
- Enough technical understanding to talk to product and engineering teams and turn regulation into practical guidance
- Experience in adjacent product, technology or payments roles is also welcome
- Solid drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to run matters independently
- LL.B (5-year course)
