We're looking for a sharp, self-driven law graduate to support an established Melbourne commercial law firm. You'll work directly with the firm's Principal Solicitor on real matters. This is not a back-office role. You'll be expected to think critically, take ownership of your work and add value from day one.

What you'll do

- Research and draft advice, letters, memoranda and court documents across commercial and litigation matters
- Draft and review commercial agreements, including supply, services, shareholder and confidentiality agreements
- Support commercial litigation and dispute resolution: chronologies, briefs, affidavits, discovery and case preparation
- Assist with property matters: commercial and retail leases, lease reviews, and conveyancing files (Victoria)
- Manage matters, documents and time recording in Smokeball
- Use AI and legal technology tools to work faster and more accurately

What we're looking for

- A law degree from a common law jurisdiction. An Australian law degree (LLB/JD) is strongly preferred
- A solid grounding in Australian law, especially contract, corporations, property and civil procedure.




- Practical experience (internship, graduate role or paralegal work) in commercial, litigation or property/conveyancing law.
- Excellent written English and precise legal drafting
- A sharp analytical mind. You can work with a senior practitioner as a peer: you'll hold your own in legal discussions, anticipate issues and offer solutions, not just answers
- A strong work ethic, integrity and professionalism, and the ability to manage confidential information with care
- Willingness to work Melbourne business hours (AEST/AEDT)

Nice to have

- Hands-on experience with Smokeball (or similar practice management software)
- Confident use of AI tools for legal research, drafting and review
