Telecom Architect Autonomous Networks
Job Title: Telecom Architect (Network & OSS Integration)
Location: Gurgaon | Department: Network Digitization | Level: GM
Role Summary
We need a Telecom Architect who owns the end-to-end architecture across mobility, transport and core networks and the OSS/IT systems that run them, and who leads the move from automation to autonomous networks (TM Forum AN Levels 0–5).
You will define target architectures, integration interfaces and roadmaps that connect network elements, EMS/NMS and domain tools to orchestration, assurance, inventory and BSS. You are the bridge between Network Engineering, Transport and Planning teams, IT/OSS teams and vendors, turning operational needs into standards-based designs that deliver zero-touch provisioning, closed-loop assurance and AI-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Solution Architecture
- Lead integration of OSS with elements managers across RAN, transport and core (4G EPC, 5G NSA/SA, 5G-Advanced readiness), including target-state designs, transition plans and technical roadmaps.
- Ensure designs adhere to TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, ODA, Open APIs), 3GPP, O-RAN, ETSI and MEF standards.
- Translate complex network and operational requirements from NOC, Planning, Deployment and B2B teams into robust network and IT architecture.
- Run architecture reviews, technical assessments and proofs of concept for new technologies, vendors and COTS/SaaS platforms.
Service Fulfilment & Domain Tools
- Architect Service and Resource Order Management, service decomposition, orchestration and fall-out handling across multi-vendor,
multi-domain networks (FTTx, MPLS, ILL, SD-WAN, Optical, mobile).
- Design Network and Service Inventory (active and passive) to give one real-time view of assets and topology, and Resource/Service Catalogs that drive zero-touch provisioning.
- Set the architecture for transport domain tools: inventory and topology, performance management, planning, service assurance, provisioning, and reporting and analytics, keeping them aligned and reliable at 24x7 scale.
- Define tool operating requirements: availability, data accuracy, SLAs and KPIs, and operational readiness.
Service Assurance & Autonomous Operations
- Architect end-to-end assurance: Fault, Performance and Service Quality Management, with topology-driven root-cause and service-impact analysis.
- Design closed-loop automation for proactive monitoring, self-healing and automated remediation, with SLA/SLO monitoring and streaming telemetry.
- Assess maturity against TM Forum Autonomous Networks and define the staged roadmap from automation to Level 3 and Level 4 and beyond.
- Define intent-based operations (TMF921), policy guardrails and human-in-the-loop controls for AI/ML models and agents.
- Build the data foundation (telemetry, topology, digital twin) that supports AIOps,
predictive monitoring and agentic AI use cases such as self-healing, energy optimisation and capacity planning.
Integration & Technical Leadership
- Define integration patterns and API strategy: REST and event-driven (Kafka, RabbitMQ) for northbound links to CRM, billing and BSS, and southbound links to EMS/NMS, controllers and network elements.
- Guide development and integration teams through implementation, resolve complex technical blockers and ensure architectural compliance.
- Modernise legacy tools toward cloud-native, microservices and API-led platforms with low-touch operations.
- Evaluate and select vendors and COTS products, and support RFI/RFP and technical due diligence.
Required Qualifications & Experience Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, IT or a related field.
- 15+ years in telecom, including 5+ years as an architect spanning network and OSS/IT domains.
- Proven delivery of large-scale OSS/BSS integration or transformation programmes at an operator, vendor or system integrator.
- Demonstrated experience defining or executing an automation or autonomous-network roadmap.
Soft Skills
- Solid analytical and troubleshooting ability in complex, distributed systems.
- Stakeholder management that bridges IT and Network Engineering, NOC, Planning and Deployment teams.
- Leadership: mentors technical teams and chairs design-authority forums.
- Clear communicator to executives and engineers; vendor-neutral and standards-first.
