TRYST, IIT Bombay, is looking for talented professionals to join its Intelligence & Insights team at two levels – Manager (5–7 years) and Senior Analyst (2–3 years).

This is an exciting opportunity for professionals from management consulting, industry research, strategy, technology intelligence and analytics backgrounds who are passionate about understanding emerging industries, technological developments and the future of innovation.

The selected professionals will work at the intersection of frontier research, industry strategy, technology, investment and national priorities, helping shape TRYST's perspective on India's evolving industrial and technological landscape.

Key Focus Areas The Intelligence & Insights team will work across the following domains:

AI and digital technologies will also be explored as cross-industry enablers across TRYST's priority sectors.

Role 1: Manager – Intelligence & Insights

Experience: 5–8 Years The Manager will lead industry, technology and innovation intelligence across TRYST's priority domains, developing strategic perspectives and identifying opportunities that connect industry challenges with IIT Bombay's research strengths.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead industry, technology and innovation intelligence, covering market structures, industry segments, value chains, emerging technologies and frontier research.
- Develop five-year and ten-year industry outlooks, scenarios and strategic assessments.
- Evaluate India's competitive positioning, strategic dependencies and capability gaps against leading global economies, companies and research institutions.
- Identify high-value technology challenges across industries and connect them with IIT Bombay's research capabilities.
- Evaluate the innovation and investment landscape, including public research funding, deep-tech venture capital,



corporate R&D; and commercialisation barriers.
- Prepare industry outlook reports, white papers, strategic presentations and executive briefings for senior stakeholders.
- Engage with CXOs, R&D; leaders, founders, investors, policymakers and faculty to validate and strengthen industry perspectives.
- Lead, mentor and develop the team of analysts while establishing research frameworks, methodologies and quality standards.

Role 2: Senior Analyst – Intelligence & Insights

Experience: 2–3 Years The Senior Analyst will lead research and intelligence on AI & Digital Technologies while supporting the broader industry intelligence agenda across TRYST's priority sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct in-depth research on industries, technologies and markets, developing structured views of industry segments, sub-segments and value chains.
- Develop market models and analytical assessments to evaluate market size, growth opportunities and strategic dependencies.
- Track emerging technologies, frontier research, startups and investment activities to identify opportunities for research translation and commercialization.
- Contribute to five-year and ten-year industry outlooks, comparative assessments and global best-practice studies.
- Analyse India's position across relevant technology and industry segments, identifying areas where India leads, lags or depends on global capabilities.
- Synthesise research findings into high-quality reports, presentations, briefs and publications.
- Support engagements and interactions with industry leaders, investors, policymakers and faculty.




- Build expertise in AI and digital technologies while contributing to intelligence across healthcare, semiconductors, energy and climate-related domains.

Preferred Candidate Profile – Applicable to Both Roles

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

- Experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, industry research, market intelligence, research and analytics, corporate strategy, or R&D; and product-related roles.
- Exposure to direct client and stakeholder interactions, including industry leaders and senior decision-makers.
- Solid experience in primary research, industry analysis, market intelligence and gathering insights through stakeholder engagements.
- Industry exposure in one or more of the following areas:
- Semiconductors & Electronics
- Energy & Clean Technology
- Healthcare & Life Sciences
- Climate & Sustainability
- Understanding of technology trends, innovation ecosystems, product development, technology commercialisation and emerging deep-tech opportunities.
- Robust analytical, quantitative, problem-solving and research capabilities.
- Excellent communication, report writing, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

Educational Qualifications

Manager:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
- MBA or an advanced degree from a leading institution is preferred.

Senior Analyst:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Pharmacy.
- Master's degree or MBA will be an advantage.
