Role Description The Head of Production is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing end-to-end production activities across heavy fabrication operations. This role includes planning and scheduling production, allocating resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. The Head of Production will manage and mentor production teams, coordinate closely with operations, quality, maintenance, and supply chain, and resolve day-to-day issues on the shop floor.

Core responsibilities also include monitoring production metrics, implementing process improvements, enforcing safety and compliance, and supporting capacity planning for wind energy, structural fabrication, and pollution control projects.



The role requires hands-on engagement with equipment, materials, and workflows to drive efficiency, minimize downtime, and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Qualifications

- Robust skills in production planning and production management to oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and execution of fabrication projects.
- Experience in operations management and team management to lead cross-functional teams, coordinate workflows, and maintain smooth plant operations.
- Competence in budgeting to manage production costs, optimize resource utilization, and report on financial performance of production activities.
- Proven experience in heavy fabrication or manufacturing, preferably in wind energy components, structural fabrication, or pollution control systems.
- Solid understanding of quality management, safety standards, and compliance requirements in industrial manufacturing environments.
- Ability to analyze production data, implement process improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
- Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineering, procurement, and senior management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
