POSITION SUMMARY:

The Head - Enterprise Analytics & AI will lead BFIL’s enterprise-wide analytics function and act as the central decision-support partner to the MD & CEO and Leadership Team.

The role will own business and risk analytics for both Microfinance and BSS - Retail Merchant Loans, along with portfolio, collections, fraud, employee attrition, productivity, operations and other enterprise analytics. The incumbent will convert data into actionable insights that support sustainable growth, improve portfolio quality, reduce losses, strengthen controls and enhance profitability.

The role will also lead BFIL’s applied AI agenda by identifying, prioritizing and deploying practical Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Generative AI use cases. The incumbent will lead a lean team of 2-3 resources and work closely with Business, Risk, Collections, Fraud, HR, Finance, Audit, Operations, Technology and Data teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business, Growth & Customer Analytics

- Drive analytics for Microfinance and BSS portfolios to improve growth, profitability, customer acquisition, retention and cross-sell.
- Develop branch-to-zone performance insights and customer segmentation models to identify growth opportunities and improve business outcomes.
- Support strategic planning, forecasting and business reviews through actionable insights and impact measurement.

Portfolio, Credit & Risk Analytics
- Build early warning frameworks and portfolio analytics covering delinquency, vintages, cohorts, concentrations and loss forecasting.
- Support credit policy and underwriting through scorecards, segmentation, performance monitoring and risk analytics.
- Identify emerging geographic, sectoral and operational risks and recommend mitigation actions.

Collections & Fraud Analytics
- Develop collections strategies using customer and risk segmentation to improve recoveries and field productivity.
- Build dashboards, predictive alerts and monitoring frameworks for delinquency management.




- Lead fraud analytics through anomaly detection, behavioral monitoring and predictive controls to minimize fraud losses.

Workforce Analytics
- Drive workforce analytics covering attrition, hiring, productivity, deployment and workforce costs.
- Develop predictive models for attrition risk, employee stability, recruitment effectiveness and supervisory performance.
- Generate insights to improve retention, branch workforce health and organizational effectiveness.

AI & Advanced Analytics
- Define and deliver the AI and advanced analytics roadmap aligned with business, risk and operational priorities.
- Leverage Machine Learning and Generative AI across customer acquisition, risk, collections, fraud, workforce and productivity use cases.
- Ensure Responsible AI practices through governance, model validation, monitoring, security and compliance standards.

Decision Support, Governance & Team Leadership
- Develop executive dashboards, scorecards and management reporting to support data-driven decision making.
- Establish analytics governance, data quality standards, automation and self-service reporting capabilities.
- Lead and develop a high-performing analytics team, driving innovation, accountability and business impact.

DESIRED PROFILE:

Qualifications & Experience

- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline. MBA / PGDM is desirable.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience in Banking, Microfinance, NBFC, Retail Lending, Consumer Finance or Fintech.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role covering business, credit risk, portfolio, fraud, collections or workforce analytics.
- Demonstrated experience in Microfinance, retail assets, MSME or merchant lending is strongly preferred.
- Proven record of converting analytics into measurable business and risk outcomes, not only dashboards or reports.
- Experience working directly with CEOs, CXOs or senior leadership and influencing cross-functional decisions.
- Experience leading a small, high-impact team while remaining sufficiently hands-on.
