Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Own and deliver end-to-end feature development across backend, frontend, and database layers
- Design and build scalable, high-performance APIs, UI components, and complex business logic
- Manage cross-domain system interactions (e.g., payroll, compliance, accounting) with strong systems thinking
- Lead production issue diagnosis and resolution, ensuring high availability and reliability
- Debug and optimize workflows across UI API database background jobs
- Drive infrastructure and DevOps practices, including cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments
- Oversee and optimize asynchronous processing systems (queues, schedulers, background jobs)
- Enforce code quality, scalability, and engineering standards
- Review and validate AI-generated code for:
- Type safety and architecture alignment

- Security and compliance

- Performance and scalability

- Business logic accuracy
- Architect and manage third-party integrations (payments, e-signature, identity systems)
- Ensure reliability of API integrations, webhooks, and data synchronization flows
- Actively leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining engineering rigor
- Guide best practices for AI usage in development workflows
- Rapidly understand and implement domain-heavy business logic (e.g., payroll, compliance, tax systems)
- Monitor production systems, lead incident handling, and ensure timely resolution with proper documentation

Required Skills

Core Technologies

- Strong expertise in TypeScript
- Backend: Node.js, Express (or similar frameworks)

PostgreSQL with Prisma ORM (or similar ORM experience)

System Design & Architecture

- Strong understanding of scalable system design and microservices architecture
- Experience handling large, complex, domain-driven applications
- Ability to design systems considering performance, scalability, and fault tolerance

Infrastructure & DevOps

- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
- Cloud experience (Azure preferred / AWS/GCP acceptable)

Caching & Messaging

- Experience with Redis
- Hands-on with queue-based architectures (BullMQ, Kafka, or similar)

Testing & Quality Engineering

- Experience with Jest, Vitest, Playwright or similar frameworks
- Strong focus on test coverage, reliability, and maintainability

Security & Engineering Practices

- Knowledge of secure coding standards and vulnerability management
- Experience with code quality and security tools

AI-Assisted Development

- Proven experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Cursor) in development workflows
- Ability to critically evaluate, validate, and optimize AI-generated code

Integrations

- Strong experience in third-party API integrations and webhooks
- Understanding of distributed systems and data consistency challenges
