Role Description
We’re looking for 5 people who are a little obsessed with making machines move. ?
At YoLabs we’ve spent years building robots, winning international competitions, and teaching thousands of students to create their own world. Now we’re going deeper — into Physical AI: intelligence that doesn’t just live on a screen, but senses, decides, and acts in the real world.
What you’d actually do
Whatever the frontier demands that week. There is no fixed lane. In the same month you might:
- Train teams for national & international robotics competitions
- Build technical solutions for recent startups we’re backing
- Prototype cutting-edge ideas nobody’s cracked yet
- Work on YoLabs’ own spin-offs
One constant: you’re building robots, directly under the co-founders, responsible for anything and everything the work needs. No layers. No queue.
Two ways in
? If you’ve already built things — freshers up to 2 years, with a trail of evidence: competition robots (IIT TechFest, RoboCup, RCJ, MATE ROV, or your college/school arena), hobby builds, real projects that actually ran — apply for the team role.
? If you’re not there yet but you love robots and want to learn — you’re genuinely welcome. Apply for the internship, and let’s find the synergy by building together.
Either door is a real door. We’ve all come through one of them.
Who you are
- Mechatronics, mechanical, electronics — or no “right” branch at all. Even a design background. We don’t care about the label.
- What we care about: you can show your love for robots, not just talk about it.
- Hands-on (or hungry to be) with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Jetson, sensors, actuators, motors, ROS, computer vision, CAD.
We hire builders, not toppers. A shining marksheet tells us nothing about whether you can make a thing work at 2 a.m. when the motor’s cooking and the code is lying to you. Show us what you’ve made.
The honest part
Tight timelines. Real deadlines. Some overnights when a build is close.
And then — we shut the lab, take a 5–7 day paid break, and go explore a corner of India together. That’s the rhythm. For the people this is written for, work-life balance isn’t a policy you negotiate — it happens on its own, because robots are already part of your life.
Remuneration is based purely on your ability — and it’s served as salary plus ESOPs. You help build it, you own a piece of it.
