- Set and adjust process parameters, including barrel and die temperatures, screw RPM, melt pressure, blow-up ratio (BUR), haul-off speed, and IBC/air ring settings.
- Handle product and color changeovers, die purging, and running in new jobs.
- Operate gravimetric dosing systems, auto-profile control, and winders (surface and center winding).
Material Handling
- Prepare resin blends as per the job card, using LLDPE, LDPE, mLLDPE, HDPE, EVOH, PA (nylon), tie layers, and additives such as slip, antiblock, and masterbatch.
- Run barrier film structures, for example PE/Tie/EVOH/Tie/PE and PE/Tie/PA/Tie/PE.
- Ensure correct material loading and track consumption.
Quality Control
- Monitor and maintain film thickness, gauge profile, layer ratio, lay-flat width, and roll quality.
- Identify and correct defects such as gels, die lines, wrinkles, bubble instability, gauge variation, blocking, and poor COF.
- Carry out in-process checks for thickness, dart impact, COF, corona treatment (dyne level), and seal strength in coordination with QC.
Maintenance and Safety
- Perform routine cleaning of the die, air ring, and screen changer, and carry out basic preventive maintenance.
- Report mechanical or electrical issues promptly to the maintenance team.
- Follow safety, 5S, and GMP practices, and requirements under food-grade standards (BRC, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000) where applicable.
