Job Title: Ethnic Wear Designer

Location: V-Mart Retail, Gurgaon

Department: Design – Womenswear

Experience: 1–3 Years

Reports To: Manager Design

Job Purpose To develop creative, trend-driven and commercially viable women's ethnic wear collections aligned with the value retail segment and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop seasonal collections across kurtas, kurtis, dresses, co-ord sets, SKD and ethnic bottoms.
- Conduct trend, market and competitor research to identify emerging styles, colours, prints and silhouettes.
- Create mood boards, colour stories, print/embroidery concepts and technical/flat sketches.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Indian ethnic silhouettes, fabrics, prints, embroideries and garment detailing.
- Develop designs considering customer preferences, market trends, target price points and commercial viability.
- Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing,



sampling and production teams from concept development to final product.
- Review samples and ensure design accuracy, quality and detailing.

Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of AI-based design tools is an added advantage.
- Robust understanding of women's ethnic wear and Indian fashion trends.
- Good knowledge of fabrics, prints, embroideries, colour combinations and garment construction.
- Creative mindset with a strong eye for detail, colour and commercial fashion.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Desired Candidate Profile
- 1–3 years of experience in women's ethnic wear designing.
- Experience with value retail, mass-market fashion or apparel brands will be preferred.
- Candidates should have a strong design portfolio showcasing ethnic wear collections.
