Role & responsibilities

Execute centrally managed procurement of packaging materials for six manufacturing units under the direction of the Assistant Purchase Manager/Purchase Manager. Ensure timely purchase order processing, supplier follow-up, material availability and closure of procurement transactions.

This is a hands-on, execution-centric role requiring hard work, accuracy, consistent follow-up and close coordination with suppliers and manufacturing teams

- Timely and accurate purchase order processing.
- Supplier adherence to committed packaging delivery schedules.
- Timely identification and escalation of material shortages.
- Compliance with approved packaging specifications and released artwork.
- Closure of overdue orders, quality claims and invoice discrepancies.
- Accuracy and timeliness of procurement trackers and MIS.
- Compliance with approved purchase terms, procedures and authority limits.

Preferred candidate profile

- Graduate in any discipline.
- MBA in Material Management or Supply Chain is preferred.




- 45 years of relevant experience in packaging material purchasing, preferably in biscuits, bakery, food processing or FMCG manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of packaging materials such as flexible laminates, corrugated boxes, trays, labels and tapes, including specifications, lead times and order quantities.
- Experience coordinating procurement requirements across multiple manufacturing units is preferred.
- Hardworking, disciplined and dependable, with strong follow-up skills and ownership of assigned work.
- Ability to handle multiple purchase orders, urgent requirements and competing priorities with accuracy.
- Positive communication, numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of SAP and/or Oracle for procurement transactions and reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Word, advanced Excel and PowerPoint is desired.
- Must be willing to travel to manufacturing units in Siliguri, Nagpur, Bangalore and Guwahati as and when required.
