Position description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineering professional to join our Slag Yard team within the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) department at Jindal Stainless Limited. The role involves overseeing the technical operations, maintenance, and optimization of slag handling and processing systems in a large-scale mining and metals workplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgical engineering or related fields, with proven expertise in managing slag yard operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with environmental standards.

This position requires leadership capabilities to coordinate cross-functional teams, implement process improvements, and support sustainable production goals in a dynamic industrial setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Manage and supervise all technical activities related to slag yard operations, including slag handling, cooling, and disposal processes.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the reliability and safety of slag yard equipment and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and environmental teams to optimize slag processing and minimize operational downtime.




- Monitor and analyze slag yard performance metrics to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company safety standards in all slag yard activities.
- Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting of operational issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and manage budgets related to slag yard operations, including resource allocation and procurement of materials.
- Collaborate with engineering design teams to plan and execute upgrades or expansions of slag yard facilities.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and safety awareness.
- Generate detailed technical reports and documentation for management review and regulatory submissions.
- Drive initiatives for sustainable slag management practices aligned with corporate social responsibility goals.
