Engineering Manager - Automotive Software (EV Energy and Charging Systems).

Location: Bangalore.

Role Overview: CARIAD India-BU at Embitel India Pvt. Ltd. (a Volkswagen Group company) is looking for a seasoned Automotive Software Development Engineering Manager to lead EV Energy and Charging Software development. The role combines deep technical ownership with people and program management responsibilities, overseeing 10-30 engineers and ensuring high-quality, production-ready software delivery for global Volkswagen Group OEM platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead EV Energy and Charging software (Embedded C) Development (High/Medium/Low voltage energy and power management, Charging System functions).

- Act as technical escalation point.

- Own end-to-end delivery from India.

- Manage resources, stakeholders, milestones, and global coordination.

- Lead and develop 10-30 engineers.

- Drive performance management, coaching, and hiring.





- Ensure compliance with ASPICE (specifically SWE practices), ISO 26262, and ISO 21434.

- Plan and drive Agile / SAFe execution (JIRA, Confluence).

Required Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation, or Automotive Engineering.

- Experience: 10-16 years total experience with 3+ years in people management.

- Relevant Automotive Embedded Software development experience min 5 yrs.

Technical Skills

- Embedded C/C++, MATLAB Simulink, AUTOSAR, Gtest, RTOS, CAN/LIN/Ethernet.

- EV Domain: Electric Energy Management, Charging System, Battery Management.

- Thorough experience in Automotive Embedded SDLC (prototyping, design, VnV, Certification, manufacturing and production, service, software bug fix, software change, software defect).

Leadership Competencies

- Solid technical depth, global collaboration skills, mentoring mindset, and experience working in matrixed organizations.
