About The Team And The Role The Enterprise Software team at Ather is responsible for building the digital backbone of our manufacturing excellence, bridging the gap between shop-floor hardware and enterprise-level data intelligence to keep production lines running at peak efficiency.

This role is for a high-caliber Ignition SCADA Specialist who serves as a systems architect, designing high-performance, scalable interfaces and robust backend logic to ensure seamless data flow from the shop floor to the cloud-based data lake.

Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of mobile-responsive HMI/SCADA screens using Ignition Perspective and Vision modules.
- Write complex, optimized Python (Jython) scripts for project-level logic, Gateway scripts, and custom component functionality.
- Architect and maintain low-latency IIoT connectors using MQTT (Sparkplug B) and OPC UA for shop-floor to enterprise data flow.
- Create and manage high-quality UDTs and Global Templates to ensure rapid deployment across recent production lines.
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas (PostgreSQL/MS SQL) to manage massive streams of production data.
- Collaborate with Data Science teams to provide clean, contextualized industrial data for AI/ML predictive maintenance and quality analytics.
- Conduct rapid prototyping workshops to test recent features, enabling early production builds and fast feedback loops.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and maintain rigorous documentation of Gateway configurations and network topology.

Experience And Qualifications

- BE/B.Tech/MS in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or Mechatronics
- 5–7 years in Industrial Automation, with at least 3+ years focused specifically on the Ignition (Inductive Automation) platform.

Must Have Competencies





- Expert-level proficiency in designing and deploying Ignition SCADA architectures using Perspective and Vision modules.
- Advanced capability in writing complex Python (Jython) scripts for Gateway-level logic and custom system functionality.
- Mastery of IIoT protocols including MQTT (Sparkplug B), OPC UA, and Ethernet/IP for seamless industrial connectivity.
- Extensive experience in data orchestration using SQL for managing large-scale production databases like PostgreSQL and MS SQL.

Good to Have Competencies

- Familiarity with web technologies including CSS and HTML specifically for advanced Perspective module styling.
- Foundational understanding of the ISA-95 and ISA-88 frameworks for standardizing industrial information models.
- Knowledge of integrating industrial data streams into AI/ML models for predictive maintenance and quality analytics.
- Possession of Inductive Automation credentials, such as Ignition Core or Gold Certification.
