Energy Marshal (Electrical Safety), Data Centre

SP Data Centers is looking for an electrically qualified Energy Marshal to join a hyperscale data centre project in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, working client-side for one of the world's leading data centre developers.

This is a hands-on electrical safety role, not a generalist HSE position. You will be the onsite authority on electrical isolation during commissioning, making sure no one works on equipment that has not been proven secure.

What you'll be doing

- Leading the electrical Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programme on site
- Physically verifying isolations and zero energy before any work begins
- Overseeing LOTO removal and re-energisation
- Reviewing electrical permits to work and risk assessments
- Monitoring energisation sequences and tracking live status across the site
- Controlling access to substations, switch rooms, UPS and battery rooms
- Using Stop Work Authority when there is electrical danger
- Running daily inspections, LOTO audits and toolbox talks
- Keeping accurate LOTO registers, daily logs and weekly reports
- Supporting electrical incident investigations

What you'll need





- A valid Electrical Supervisor Competency Certificate (Maharashtra or recognised state equivalent) for the relevant voltage class. This is essential.
- A degree or diploma in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Data centre construction or commissioning experience. This is essential.
- Hands-on LOTO experience in live commissioning environments
- Practical HV and LV experience across switchgear, transformers, UPS and generators
- Working knowledge of the CEA Safety Regulations 2023 and the Electricity Act 2003
- The confidence to challenge contractors and commissioning teams on site
- Fluent English

Nice to have

- NFPA 70E or equivalent electrical safety training
- NEBOSH IGC or ADIS
- Refinery, power plant or petrochemical shutdown experience
- Hindi or Marathi
