Job Purpose

HireIn Solutions is actively seeking an experienced and result-driven Electrical Engineer (Railway Projects) for client operations in Ernakulam, Kerala. The candidate will execute, supervise, and coordinate all on-site electrical installations and commissioning activities across railway infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate must possess strong practical experience in Overhead Electrification (OHE), traction power supply systems, auxiliary power distribution, and station electrical works while maintaining strict compliance with RDSO specifications, Indian Railways standards, and safety norms.

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Supervision:

Execute and supervise day-to-day electrical construction and installation activities at project sites in Ernakulam, Kerala.

Manage railway electrical systems, including Overhead Electrification (OHE), traction sub-stations, auxiliary power supply, and station facility electrical systems.

Lead testing, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance procedures for all electrical machinery and power distribution setups.

Technical & Drawing Interpretation:

Read, interpret, and implement complex electrical engineering drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic layouts, and technical specifications.

Ensure on-site execution strictly complies with approved technical designs, work schedules, and RDSO specifications.

Inter-Departmental Coordination & Compliance:

Coordinate seamlessly with civil, mechanical, signalling & telecommunication (S&T;), and safety teams.

Ensure strict adherence to Indian Railways guidelines,



RDSO standards, and site-level HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) rules.

Liaison and coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, technical consultants, and visiting railway authority inspectors.

Documentation & Reporting:

Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), material consumption logs, measurement book (MB) records, and quality check sheets.

Maintain comprehensive technical logs required for safety clearances, RA billing, and official project commissioning.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Educational Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).

Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven site execution experience in Railway / Metro / EPC Electrical infrastructure projects.

Technical Proficiency:

In-depth knowledge of Railway Electrification, OHE structures, traction power, and auxiliary systems.

Expert competency in reading SLDs, wiring layout drawings, and technical schematics.

Hands-on knowledge of electrical testing equipment, insulation testers, relay testing, and high-voltage safety practices.

Soft Skills: Excellent team coordination, problem-solving ability, contractor management, and site leadership.

Mobility: Willingness to operate at project sites around Ernakulam and travel across regional project locations as required.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with direct site execution experience in the following sectors will be prioritized:

Railway Electrification Projects (OHE / Traction Power Supply / Sub-stations)

Railway Station / Yard / Platform Electrical Infrastructure

Metro Rail Projects & Heavy EPC Infrastructure Works

Indian Railways Direct Contracts or Tier-1 Railway Contractor Projects
