Key Responsibilities

- Teach assigned courses in English language, English literature, communication, and other relevant areas aligned with the School’s curriculum and the faculty member’s expertise.
- Plan and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops, presentations, and other appropriate learning activities.
- Develop lesson plans, learning resources, assessments, and course materials aligned with program outcomes and outcome-based education.
- Assess student learning fairly and consistently, provide constructive feedback, and maintain academic records as required.
- Mentor students in academic progress, communication skills, critical thinking, reading, writing, research, and professional development.
- Contribute to curriculum review, course design, innovative pedagogy, interdisciplinary learning, and continuous academic improvement.
- Undertake research and scholarly activities, pursue publications in quality academic journals, and contribute to research projects and conferences.
- Participate in academic meetings, departmental activities, institutional events, quality assurance, and other responsibilities assigned by the University.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external academic or professional bodies to support knowledge exchange and academic development.

Assistant Professor

- Deliver assigned courses and support effective classroom learning and student engagement.
- Prepare course plans, teaching materials, assignments, examinations, and student feedback in accordance with University requirements.
- Support student mentoring, academic advising, departmental activities, and curriculum-related work.
- Develop an active research profile through scholarly work, publications, conference participation, and collaborative research, as applicable.
- Contribute to innovative teaching practices, interdisciplinary learning, and continuous improvement of course delivery.

Associate Professor

- Undertake teaching and mentoring responsibilities while contributing to course and programme development.
- Demonstrate a sustained record of research, scholarly publications, conference participation,



and academic contributions appropriate to the position.
- Guide student research and support research activities, project work, and collaborative scholarly initiatives.
- Contribute to academic planning, curriculum review, assessment quality, and the mentoring of faculty members where required.
- Support institutional research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and initiatives that strengthen the School’s academic profile.

Professor

- Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, curriculum development, and the continued development of the School of English.
- Lead or support research projects, scholarly collaborations, publications, conferences, and other research and innovation initiatives.
- Guide research scholars and student research activities, subject to University provisions and applicable regulations.
- Mentor faculty members and contribute to academic quality, programme review, innovative pedagogy, and outcome-based education.
- Build academic networks and pursue interdisciplinary collaborations, consultancy, conferences, and other opportunities relevant to the School.
- Contribute to strategic academic planning and initiatives that promote academic excellence and professional development.
