Role Description The Assistant PED (Physical Education Department) role is a full-time, on-site position based at Solamalai College of Engineering in Madurai. The Assistant PED will support the planning, organization, and supervision of sports and physical education programs for students. Daily responsibilities include coordinating practice schedules, maintaining sports equipment and facilities, and assisting in organizing intra- and inter-collegiate tournaments and events.





The role involves monitoring student participation and performance, promoting fitness and wellness initiatives, and ensuring adherence to safety and institutional guidelines. The Assistant PED will collaborate with faculty, administrative staff, and external sports bodies to enhance the overall physical education and sports culture on campus.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of physical education principles, sports training methods, and fitness and wellness practices.
- Experience in organizing sports events, managing sports facilities, and coordinating student activities.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and coordinate with academic and administrative departments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Relevant certifications in coaching, sports training, or fitness instruction are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a college or school sports environment is preferred.
- Commitment to student development, ethical conduct, and inclusive participation in sports and physical activities.
