Role Description The Assistant Manager Purchase role is a full time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The role involves managing procurement activities for raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies required for chemical manufacturing operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and evaluating suppliers, requesting and analyzing quotations, negotiating prices and terms, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

Purchase will maintain purchase records, coordinate with production, finance, and logistics teams, and monitor inventory levels to support uninterrupted plant operations.



The role also includes ensuring compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, while continuously seeking cost optimization and process improvements.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain practices in manufacturing or chemical industry.
- Ability to analyze quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and manage contracts with suppliers.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or procurement management software.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and data management skills for tracking purchases and inventory.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Supply Chain, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in materials management or operations is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in purchasing or materials management, preferably in the chemicals or industrial sector.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, handle multiple priorities, and adhere to timelines and compliance requirements.
