About the role

We are hiring an AR Analyst to follow up on unpaid and denied US healthcare insurance claims and get them resolved and paid. You will work claims with commercial payers, Medicare and Medicaid through calls, payer portals and correspondence. The role suits someone with 612 months of hands-on AR calling or denial management experience who wants to build depth in the revenue cycle. Strong analytical habits, clear spoken English and accurate documentation matter more than years on the job.

Key responsibilities

- Call insurance companies (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Comp) to check claim status and resolve unpaid or underpaid claims.

- Use payer websites and portals to check eligibility, claim status and remittance details.

- Analyze denials using CARC/RARC codes and EOBs/ERAs, identify the root cause and take corrective action.

- Correct and resubmit claims; prepare and send appeals and reconsiderations within payer timely-filing limits.

- Work aged AR buckets (30/60/90/120+ days) on priority, focusing on high-dollar and near timely- filing accounts.

- Handle common denials such as eligibility, authorization, coordination of benefits, medical necessity, coding and duplicate claims.

- Document every action and follow-up clearly in the practice management or billing system (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athena, NextGen, Kareo).

- Flag recurring denial trends and payer issues to the Team Lead and coordinate with coding, charge entry and payment posting teams.

- Meet daily productivity and quality targets while following HIPAA and client-specific SOPs.

Required qualifications and skills

- 2 years to 7 years of experience in US healthcare AR calling, denial management or AR followup.

- Graduate in any discipline (or diploma with relevant experience).

- Working knowledge of the end-to-end revenue cycle: registration, charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, AR and denials.

- Understanding of CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms, EOBs/ERAs, and CARC/RARC denial codes.

- Basic familiarity with CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS codes and modifiers.

- Good verbal and written English, with explicit communication on payer calls.

- Comfortable with MS Excel (filters, sorting, basic formulas) and moving between multiple systems.

- Willing to work night shifts aligned to US business hours.

Preferred qualifications

- Experience with physician (skilled) or hospital (facility) billing.

- Exposure to specialties such as radiology, anesthesia, DME, behavioral health or multi-specialty practices.

- Hands-on use of a billing system such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, Athena or Kareo, and payer portals like Availity.

- Experience writing appeals for medical necessity or authorization denials.
