Overview

We are seeking a senior technical leader to own the architecture, standards, and delivery quality of Amplitude implementations for enterprise clients. You will define how Amplitude is instrumented, governed, and connected to the wider data ecosystem across web, mobile, and server-side sources and across markets, and you will guide a team of implementation specialists to deliver it.

The role combines deep technical judgment with client leadership. You are expected to make and defend architectural decisions, diagnose complex discrepancies using a logical, sequential method, and translate technical trade-offs for senior stakeholders. You are self-directed, open to team input, and committed to building analytics that stays reliable as products and markets scale.

Key responsibilities

1. Solution architecture: Define the end-to-end Amplitude architecture: organization and project structure, environments, multi-brand and multi-market setups, data residency (US or EU), SDK deployment, and integration with tag management, CDP, and warehouse layers.
2. Taxonomy and tracking plan ownership: Own the event taxonomy, naming conventions, event and user properties, and the tracking plan in Amplitude Data. Set standards for instrumentation requirements, event schemas, and data collection across web and mobile.
3. Identity architecture: Design the identity strategy: a canonical User ID sent consistently from every platform, device ID handling, and the anonymous-to-known transition. Decide this before data lands, because profiles that form from mismatched IDs cannot be merged afterward in a standard project.
4. Platform migration: Lead the end-to-end migration from Adobe Analytics to Amplitude using Tealium iQ or AEP Data Collection (Launch), or GTM. Manage the shift from Adobe's hit and session-based model to Amplitude's user-centric event model, translate Adobe Solution Design Reference (SDR) documents into Amplitude tracking plans, and plan historical backfill and parallel-run reconciliation.
5. Data integration and pipelines: Architect data flows in and out of Amplitude: APIs, batch and streaming ingestion, warehouse integrations - Databricks, CDP connections, and activation to marketing and experimentation tools.
6. Governance and data quality: Establish the analytics governance operating model: tracking plan ownership,

change and approval workflow (plan branches and versioning), observability against the plan, ingestion controls, and documentation standards. Define the QA strategy and data quality thresholds for event accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
7. Privacy and compliance by design: Ensure data collection meets privacy standards: consent and cookie configuration, PII controls, data residency, and deletion handling, including data that originates in the warehouse. Partner with legal and security on GDPR, CCPA, and regional requirements.
8. Analytics enablement: Make sure the architecture supports Amplitude's analysis and activation capabilities: funnels, retention, cohorts, user journeys, segmentation, experimentation, Session Replay, and Guides and Surveys. Align KPI and metric definitions with business teams and replicate key Adobe Analysis Workspace reports for a smooth handover to business users.
9. Technical leadership and troubleshooting: Act as the escalation point for tracking, identity, and ingestion issues. Review SME deliverables, set engineering standards, mentor managers and consultants, and keep delivery consistent across markets.
10. Client engagement: Shape solution approaches, estimates, and statements of work with delivery and account leadership. Present architecture decisions, risks, and roadmaps to client executives.

Qualifications and skills Must-have

- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Amplitude platform expertise
- Robust hands-on experience with Amplitude implementation, configuration, event tracking, taxonomy design, user properties, and identity resolution.
- Proficiency across Amplitude analytics: funnels, retention, cohorts, user journeys, segmentation, experimentation, and behavioral analysis.
- Digital analytics and instrumentation
- Expertise in defining tracking plans, event schemas,

instrumentation requirements, and data collection standards across web and mobile platforms.
- Deep understanding of data model differences (session-based vs. event-based) and variable mapping (eVars/props vs. event/user properties).
- Proficiency with TMS such as AEP Data Collection (Launch), Tealium iQ, or GTM, and with data layer standards and governance best practices.
- Strong skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Data integration and quality assurance
- Working knowledge of APIs, data pipelines, and integrations with data warehouses and other analytics platforms.
- Ability to validate event accuracy, data completeness, and tracking consistency using debugging tools such as Charles Proxy, browser developer tools, Adobe Debugger, and Amplitude's debugging and ingestion tools.
- Governance and troubleshooting
- Track record of establishing analytics governance and documentation, and of collaborating with engineering and data teams to deliver scalable, consistent analytics across markets.
- Leadership
- Experience leading technical teams and owning delivery outcomes on enterprise analytics programs, including at least one analytics platform migration (for example Adobe to Amplitude or similar).
- Proven ability to present insights and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior executives.

Preferred

- Amplitude, Adobe Analytics, or Tealium certification.
- Experience with Amplitude Experiment, Session Replay, Guides and Surveys, or other experimentation and product analytics tools (for example Monetate, Pendo).
- Experience with server-side tagging or CDPs such as Segment or Tealium AudienceStream.
- SQL proficiency and experience with warehouse-native or CDC-based analytics architectures.
- Familiarity with Amplitude's AI capabilities (for example Amplitude MCP and AI agents) and the governance they require on client data.

Soft skills

- Communication: Explains complex technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and presents recommendations to senior executives.
- Problem-solving: Proactively identifies and resolves data quality, identity, and tracking issues before they reach reporting.
- Collaboration: Works effectively across engineering, product, data, and marketing teams in multiple markets.
