Role Description The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations of the college, including maintaining accurate ledgers, recording transactions, and preparing periodic financial reports. Key tasks include handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, assisting with budgeting, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial and regulatory requirements. The role also involves overseeing fee collection, preparing payroll inputs, coordinating with internal departments and external auditors,



and maintaining organized financial documentation.

This is a full-time, on-site role based at the college campus in Varanasi, requiring regular presence to support administrative and academic activities.

Qualifications

- Strong foundational accounting skills, including bookkeeping, ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office tools (especially Excel) for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations, taxation basics, and compliance requirements for educational institutions.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organizational skills for managing multiple financial records.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with administrators, faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; qualified certifications (e.g., CA/ICWA intermediate) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in accounting, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and work on-site full time in Varanasi.
