Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial activities including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and supporting month-end and year-end closing.

Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing vouchers, invoices, and bills, reconciling bank statements, tracking payables and receivables, and assisting with inventory and sales-related accounting. The role also involves generating basic financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant regulations, coordinating with internal teams, and supporting external audits and tax filings as needed.



This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata, requiring regular collaboration with the finance and store operations teams.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in financial accounting, bookkeeping, and general ledger management.
- Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and basic financial reporting.
- Experience using accounting software and MS Excel; familiarity with ERP or retail POS systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant taxation, compliance, and statutory requirements applicable to retail and apparel businesses.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines in a quick-paced environment.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with finance, operations, and management teams.
- Graduate degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA/ICWA intermediate) are a plus.
- Prior accounting experience in retail, fashion, or consumer goods sectors is preferred.
