Workday Extend & Integrations Consultant

5+ Years Employment Type: Contract / Consulting Work Model: Remote Domain: Workday HCM, Extend, Integrations & Application Support Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Workday Extend & Integrations Consultant to support Workday application development, integration enhancements, tenant migrations, and ongoing production support. The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on experience with Workday Extend, Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and third-party integrations involving payroll, benefits, workforce management, finance, and compliance platforms. This role requires someone who can independently troubleshoot technical issues, assess existing configurations, implement enhancements, and work closely with functional teams, technical stakeholders, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
Workday Extend Development & Migration
• Develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain Workday Extend applications.
• Support migration of Extend applications between development tenants and other supported Workday environments.
• Review application business objects, orchestrations, security, integration dependencies, and data migration requirements.
• Perform application testing, migration validation, deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Investigate application defects and support Workday release readiness. Workday Integrations
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot inbound and outbound Workday integrations using Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, APIs, and SFTP.
• Support integrations with external payroll, benefits, finance,



compliance, and workforce management systems.
• Investigate integration failures, mapping discrepancies, missing employee records, and vendor processing errors.
• Perform data reconciliation, root cause analysis, integration monitoring, and regression testing.
• Support US payroll and compliance-related integrations, including ACA reporting dependencies. Enhancements & Project Delivery
• Conduct technical impact assessments for new legal entities, organizational changes, and employee populations.
• Update integration selection rules, mappings, transformations, and related configurations.
• Coordinate Sandbox testing, vendor validation, Production deployments, and hypercare.
• Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, and release management activities.
• Work with project teams to identify technical risks, dependencies, and realistic delivery timelines. Production Support & Knowledge Transfer
• Provide ongoing support for business-critical Workday applications and integrations.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and implement sustainable fixes.
• Maintain technical documentation, integration inventories, and troubleshooting runbooks.




• Support knowledge transfer and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of Workday technical or techno-functional consulting experience.
• Strong hands-on Workday Extend development, troubleshooting, and migration experience.
• Expertise in Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, REST/SOAP APIs, XML/XSLT, and SFTP.
• Good understanding of Workday Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, and Security.
• Experience supporting third-party integrations and US payroll-related data exchange.
• Strong experience with integration testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and production support.
• Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow, Agile delivery, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder-management skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with PECI/PICOF integrations.
• Exposure to US payroll compliance, ACA, and benefits integrations.
• Experience supporting Workday environments involving multiple legal entities.
• Familiarity with external platforms such as ADP, UKG, Infor, or similar enterprise applications.
• Experience working in consulting, managed services, or application enhancement environments.
