The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, Process SMEs, data owners, IT teams, and implementation partners to define data requirements, establish common standards, prepare and transform data, and enable successful migration across ERP implementations, system integrations, carve-outs, and other large-scale transformation programs.
The primary responsibilities of current role may include:
Lead business and data requirement-gathering workshops and translate requirements into data rules, mapping specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Assess source data, business processes, and target-system needs to define the migration scope, approach, dependencies, and readiness criteria.
Perform or coordinate data profiling and analysis using SQL, Excel, and relevant data tools to identify quality gaps, anomalies, and transformation requirements.
Define source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, reconciliation rules, and validation controls in collaboration with business and technical teams.
Coordinate data cleansing, enrichment, deduplication, and remediation activities with data owners across functional domains such as Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Operations.
Drive data standardization by defining common data definitions, naming conventions, reference data, master data structures, hierarchies, and business rules.
Support design and execution of mock migrations, data loads, reconciliation, defect resolution, cutover, and post-migration validation.
Monitor data quality indicators and migration outcomes,
investigate variances, and drive timely corrective action with business, IT, and vendor teams.
Establish traceability from business requirements through mapping, transformation, testing, reconciliation, and sign-off.
Develop and maintain data dictionaries, mapping workbooks, issue logs, governance artefacts, operating procedures, and decision records.
Facilitate governance forums and working sessions to resolve data ownership, definition, quality, and standardization issues.
Ensure compliance with agreed data standards, controls, and governance requirements across systems and migration releases.
Manage workstream plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and status reporting for data migration and transformation activities.
Coordinate business, IT, and implementation-partner teams to deliver migration cycles and resolve blockers within agreed timelines.
Prepare clear project updates, dashboards, steering materials, and recommendations for program leadership.
Contribute to client deliverables, guide junior team members, and support knowledge transfer and transition to business-as-usual teams.
Key skills required:
3 8 years of relevant experience in data migration, data transformation, data standardization, data quality, master data, or technology-enabled business transformation.
Hands-on understanding of the data migration lifecycle, including profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, load, reconciliation, validation, cutover, and hypercare.
Experience defining and applying data standards, business rules, data dictionaries, reference data, master data structures, and governance controls.
Robust business analysis skills, with experience facilitating workshops, documenting requirements, preparing source-to-target mappings, and defining acceptance criteria.
Working proficiency in SQL and advanced MS Excel for data analysis, profiling, reconciliation, and issue investigation; experience with data-quality, ETL, or visualization tools is an advantage.
Exposure to ERP implementations, system integrations, carve-outs, or post-merger integration programs; experience across multiple functional domains is preferred.
Ability to analyse data lineage, identify root causes of data-quality issues, and translate business needs into practical technical specifications.
Strong project-management discipline, including milestone tracking, risk and issue management, dependency management, status reporting, and stakeholder follow-up.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with business users, data owners, IT teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
Structured problem-solving, attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Ability to guide junior team members, contribute independently to client deliverables, and travel as required by project needs.
