Rating Analyst (Large Corporates)

We are seeking a motivated Rating Analyst to join our Large Corporate Ratings team in Mumbai. In this role, you will support the end-to-end credit rating process for India s leading corporates, develop insightful analyses, and interact with senior management and investors. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career finance professionals (1-3 years experience) to deepen their credit expertise within a reputable ratings environment

Responsibilities

1. Conduct in-depth credit analysis of large corporate entities, including detailed financial statement review, ratio analysis, and cash-flow modeling.

2. Prepare comprehensive rating proposals, credit opinions, and research reports for rating committees and external stakeholders.

3. Monitor assigned portfolio companies, track key developments, and recommend rating actions based on evolving business and financial risk profiles.

4. Engage with company management, bankers, and investors to gather information, clarify analytical issues, and communicate rating rationales.

5. Maintain and enhance sector knowledge-macroeconomic trends, regulatory developments, and industry dynamics affecting credit quality.

6. Collaborate with senior analysts in assigning and surveilling ratings, ensuring adherence to internal methodologies and regulatory standards.

7. Support the origination team by providing analytical insights during new rating mandates and investor interactions.

8. Contribute to process improvements, data automation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Large Corporate Ratings group.

Requirements

1. Bachelor s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline; CA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent preferred.

2. 1-3 years of hands-on experience as a Credit Rating Analyst, Credit Analyst,



or similar role covering large corporates.

3. Strong financial modeling skills and deep understanding of financial statements, cash-flow analysis, and key credit ratios.

4. Solid grasp of Indian corporate sectors, macroeconomic drivers, and regulatory landscape.

5. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools; ability to manipulate large data sets.

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex credit viewpoints clearly to diverse audiences.

7. Ability to work accurately under tight timelines; solid analytical rigor, attention to detail, and professional integrity.

8. Availability to join within a 3-month notice period and be based in Mumbai.

Nice to Have

1. Experience working at or with a credit rating agency on large corporate mandates.

2. Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA.

3. Exposure to sectors like infrastructure, power, or manufacturing.

4. Knowledge of IFRS/Ind AS and other international accounting frameworks.

5. Familiarity with ESG risk assessment frameworks and their integration into credit analysis.
